Abba Forever tells the story of the members of Abba from their meeting 50 years ago up to today. Linking the songs together and telling their story are interviews with Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid, the quartet whose initials gave the group its name. 50 years ago, the 4 young people who became the members of the Swedish supergroup Abba first met. They went on to sell over 400 million records. 20 years ago, the musical “Mamma Mia!”, featuring 27 of their songs and to date seen by over 60 million people, premiered in the West End. Despite their existence as a band lasting only about a decade and ending in 1982, Abba are as popular today as they have ever been. Abba seems to go on forever and this program is a celebration of that. As band member Anni-Frid says in the program, “Abba will never disappear. I get fan mail from teenagers, I could be their grandmother!”
